A Guwahati resident, who claims to be founder-president of ‘Kutumba Surakshya Parishad’ on Monday filed a police complaint against Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathaan’. While police received the complaint, an FIR had not been registered as of 9 pm, an officer said.
In his complaint, Satya Ranjan Borah alleged that the song ‘Besharam Rang’ is insulting to the colour saffron as the first colour in the Tricolour, and as a “symbol of greater Sanatan Dharma”.
On Monday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified he still doesn’t know much about Khan, and hardly watches movies. “I have seen films of Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Jeetendra…. I still don’t know much about Shah Rukh Khan. Since 2001, I have seen not more than six to seven films,” he told the media, PTI reported.
On his conversation with Khan, Sarma said, “I asked him the name of his film and he said ‘Pathaan’. I told him ‘koi disturb nahi hoga’ (there will be no disturbances),” the CM recounted.
Asked about his “Who is Shah Rukh Khan” remark, Sarma said, “Why should I know him? I really didn’t know he was such a great man…. I don’t watch many films.”
